Two hours west of Vinh, the land begins to climb. Tân Kỳ sits in the red-basalt midlands of Nghệ An, where deep, free-draining volcanic soil and a long dry-then-wet rhythm produce the aromatic rhizomes VinaTrueExport is known for — ginger and turmeric.
Why the soil matters
Ginger and turmeric are rhizomes: they store the plant's flavour and colour underground. In waterlogged clay they rot and turn fibrous. Tân Kỳ's loose red basalt drains fast after the summer rains, letting the rhizomes swell cleanly and concentrate the oils buyers test for — the bold gingerol bite in our ginger and the 5–7% curcumin in our turmeric.
How it's grown
- Planted on gentle slopes for natural drainage, February–March.
- Grown through the wet season with minimal chemical input.
- Hand-dug from November, cured in shade, then graded by size.
Because we work directly with the growers here — not through a central wholesale market — we can trace every container back to the hillsides it came from, and plan harvest volume around your order instead of guessing at it.
The brand promise
When a buyer asks where their ginger came from, we don't say "Vietnam." We say Tân Kỳ, Nghệ An — and we can show you the field.
